apogiatura

This is the most common question about my website!

A:  Appoggiatura Andante is my "nom de plie"

Why?  Well, when I first started choreographing, I didn't want to embarrass my family, or my employer, so I came up with this musical play on words.  In musical terms an "appoggiatura" is a "grace" note, a note too small to even have its own denomination, and exists only in relation to the preceding  larger note; "andante" is a "walking rhythm."
